(Entry for Young Pars page of Match Programme v Queen of the South) Hi Young Pars
What a disappointment last weekend when the St Johnstone match was called off because of a frozen pitch. We had a bus organised for Young Pars and parents and everyone was looking forward to going through to the game but it was not to be. At this moment in time we don’t know what is happening about the rescheduled game but, if you were booked onto our bus, we will let you know as soon as we can.
Ballboy/Ballgirl spotlight

Today we have one of our hard working ball girls in the spotlight.  Fourteen year old Kim McFarlane has supported the Pars for about 7 years following in the footsteps of her father who has been a Pars fan all his life.  Her mum is originally from Glasgow and used to support one of the big two through there but has long since been converted to the Pars we’re glad to say!  Kim’s favourite memory from watching the Pars was at the last Scottish Cup final because of the fantastic atmosphere.

As a ball girl she enjoys being on the touchline and watching the play close up.  What she doesn’t like is the awful weather they sometimes have to stand out in – and it has been pretty bad on occasions so far this season!  As Kim plays football herself, though, she should be used to being out in all weathers!  Kim thinks the best thing about being in the Young Pars is getting to meet the players at the different events.  Her favourite player at the moment is Callum Woods.

Let’s give all our ball boys and girls lots of encouragement as they go about their duties.

Young Pars events

We are busy planning events for the new year and will be in touch with all our members to let you know what’s happening.  As well as Club nights we will soon be organising the Young Pars penalty competition, so time to start practising if you are interested in taking part in this!   If you have any ideas of things you would like us to do at the Young Pars then please get in touch.  We are always looking for new ideas to take on board.

You can keep up to date with everything going on at the Young Pars by visiting our website at www.youngpars.co.uk  where you will find news and photos of Young Pars events that have taken place as well as those coming up – plus lots of other football related info.  There are also details on how you can join if you haven’t already done so.  Or why not send us an email?  The address is pars@youngpars.co.uk
